My latest DIY project! I found this table on the side of the road in my neighborhood, and I went back and forth with picking it up or leaving it. I always envision that I can make something really cool, but that doesn’t always happen :) I only pretend to be artsy in any other way besides photography. But it was such a quirky piece of furniture that I couldn’t pass it up. (Drew kept saying, “I don’t get it…What is it?”) But I love the outcome! I went to True Value and told the woman, “Honestly, I have NO idea what I’m doing. What do you suggest?” And she helped me pick out primer and paint. And my mom had the brilliant idea of rubbing candle wax over the areas that I wanted to peel off to show the original paint, so it looks all rustic and awesome :) Total cost for this project? Under $40. And now I have a sweet rustic looking side table that I love! I was telling my roommate, I love projects, especially when they work out! Next up: putting photographs in this beautiful rustic windowpane that one of my co-workers gave me!
