I have clients ask me all the time what to wear on their engagement session. So I thought I would write up a quick post to help you out!
1. First of all, and most importantly, wear something that makes you feel comfortable! Are your feet going to hurt after 2 steps in those heels? Are you going to be pulling down your dress constantly because it feels too short for you? The more comfortable you are in your outfit, the easier it will be to get comfortable in front of the camera. This doesn’t mean you can’t dress up, but just make sure it’s an outfit that you won’t have to be fixing the whole session.
2. A lot of people have questions about patterns. Plaid is always great. One thing to watch out for though, is pattern that is too big. Both of these girls did a great job with their dresses, because there is an obvious pattern that makes the dress interesting, but the pattern isn’t too big that it distracts from their beautiful faces!
3. You can look good together without matching. I will NEVER advocate for the whole “khaki pants and navy shirts” thing. No no. Then you blend together in a big blob. Wear what you want! As long as you aren’t in a fancy ballgown while your man is in shorts and tennis shoes, just pick out things that are the same style, but not necessarily the same color.
4. Have fun with it. Ultimately, you want your engagement session to reflect your style. So just have fun with it!
