Jessica and Chris * Nashville Engagement Photographer

I met Jessica and Chris on one of their wedding planning visits to Charleston. We spent the evening around downtown Charleston, and they talked about how excited they were to get married in such a beautiful location. They both currently live in Nashville, and while they are having their wedding in Charleston, they also wanted to have some engagement photos taken at their home in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Charleston photographer, I obviously love my hometown, but I LOVE when I get a chance to photograph other places. Nashville was an absolute dream. Jessica and Chris live close to downtown, and they took me on a little tour of their neighborhood as we took pictures. I was in love with the trees changing colors, as we don’t get that too much in Charleston, and it reminded me of going to school in Chicago. It was fun to see the different architecture and history of a new city, and be able to photograph a gorgeous couple at the same time!

Chris and Jessica are such a lovely couple, and they’re the type of people that make you feel comfortable as soon as you meet them. They are unassuming, goofy, and just fun to be around. I remember laughing a lot the first time I met them, and when we met up in Nashville it was like we were old friends. Jessica contacted me after our session and said that she wanted to have a photograph printed to give to Chris for his birthday. I love when couples print their photographs, and even more when it’s a surprise birthday gift!

This year is looking like it’s going to be a year of travel, and I’m so happy about that! I will be traveling to Puerto Rico (my husband won a scholarship for work by writing a song to Taylor Swift’s Blank Space…I really wish I could share it but I think he might un-invite me on the trip…), the Bahamas (yes, that one is just for fun!), the upper part of Wisconsin for a wedding on a lake, Philadelphia for a winter wedding, Savannah to second shoot a wedding, and Portugal for a wedding in a castle! I’m always up for traveling for weddings or engagement sessions, and I have a few dates left this year!
