Taryn and Mike * Charleston Engagement Photographer

I met Mike at a gym where we both worked a few years ago when I had first moved to Charleston. I remember him talking about his girlfriend, Taryn, and how wonderful she was. Fast forward a few years, and I was finally able to meet Taryn, who was now engaged to Mike. As soon as I met her, I knew exactly what Mike was talking about. She has this adorable little giggle, and I loved the way Mike smiled when she laughed. It’s always fun to meet the significant other of a friend of yours, to see how they make each other light up and how excited they are about the future.

I always love to hear proposal stories, so it was the first thing I asked Mike and Taryn when we met up. They live in Mount Pleasant, and Taryn loves to walk the bridge. She said that Mike usually doesn’t want to go, but one day he was all pumped up about going to walk the bridge. Taryn didn’t really think anything of it, and laced up her tennis shoes and hopped in the car. They started on their long walk, and about halfway up the bridge some girl was holding a sign that said “Taryn.” She thought, “Whoa, that’s super weird that someone has the same name as me,” and kept walking. Just after that she saw the signs that said “will,” “you,” “marry,” “me,” and realized that the girls holding the signs were co-workers of Mike’s. She turned around and Mike was on one knee :)
