Brian contacted me a few weeks before he was surprising Kristen on a “birthday trip” to Charleston. He was actually planning on proposing to her :) Their flight arrived on Friday evening, and Brian was set on proposing as soon as possible. I mean, what guy wants to carry around a diamond ring in their pocket all weekend? Talk about nerve-racking. As Friday approached, Brian and I were constantly checking the weather, which got worse and worse by the day. Friday arrived, and like the weather predicted, it was gray, rainy, and extremely windy. Brian still wanted to propose, and I said I thought it would make for a romantic proposal. Rain makes everything more romantic, right? So Brian took Kristen on a rainy walk through the park, telling her they were on their way to a wine bar before dinner. Halfway through the park, he stopped her, got down on one knee (rain and all) and asked her to be his wife. And I think the rain did make it more romantic :)
On Sunday, before they left to go home, we had an engagement session so they could have some daylight photos of their time in Charleston. Let me tell you, these two radiate JOY. Kristen has the biggest smile, and laughs hilariously about everything. Brian was on cloud-9 after proposing, and was so happy to know that this gorgeous lady is going to be his wife! You can tell that they are two people who are so comfortable with who they are, and who light up every room they enter.
Congratulations to the two of you!
This is the painting that Brian gave Kristen as her birthday present, to let her know that they were going on a trip to Charleston. So of course we had to find the exact location and take some photos there!Brian, you did good :)
Congratulations to my nephew, Brian, and his beautiful fiance, Kristin!!
