Christi and Bryant were married on a beautiful fall day at the William Aiken House in Charleston, South Carolina. This gorgeous venue might be one of my favorite locations in Charleston. As soon as you walk through the gate, you might as well be in a little villa in Italy. The yellow stucco walls are a perfect backdrop, and Christi and Bryant decorated with strand lights, which make my heart happy every time I see them. It makes for such an intimate setting.
I’ve known Christi for a few years now. When I first moved to Charleston, we worked at a hotel together. Guests would come to the front desk and start talking to me like I knew them, and then I would realize that they had mistaken me for Christi. Which is still unbelievable to me. The only thing we have in common is that we both have curly blonde hair and light eyes. Otherwise, she is about 10 feet taller than I am :) But we still call each other twins to this day. I was honored when Christi and Bryant asked me to photograph their wedding. It’s always fun to get a behind the scenes view of a wedding, and even more so when it’s a good friend. They both made me laugh on the morning of their wedding, because they were so impatient just to get married. Christi kept saying, “Is it time for the ceremony yet?!” They were married under the beautiful canopy of the William Aiken House, behind the reflecting pool. They had another set of strand lighting from the balcony of the house to the canopy, which created a beautiful arrow straight to the alter. Bryant cried when he saw his stunning bride at their first look, and he cried again when he saw her walking down the aisle. It’s so sweet to see the way that Bryant looks at her, like she is all he sees.
Bryant and Christi, I wish you a lifetime of happiness! Thank you for choosing me to document your gorgeous wedding day!
