If you ask me, there’s nothing better than summertime on a Wisconsin lake. Being from Charleston, I love the beach, but there’s just something about being on a lake that makes me so happy. The warm days spent on the water, and the cool evenings where you need a sweatshirt and a bonfire to stay warm. That’s perfection. So I was so excited when Sara and James asked me to come photograph their lakeside wedding in northern Wisconsin last summer. It was a destination wedding for all of their friends and family, so it was a weekend packed full of fun. Sara and James invited me as a guest to their rehearsal dinner at her parents home on the lake, and after meeting all their guests, I knew the wedding was going to be a good time. On the wedding day, the boys arrived to the ceremony on a boat, and Sara’s smile as she was walking down the aisle was ear to ear. When she reached James, he was so happy to see her that he leaned over to kiss her, at which all of the guests started laughing at his eagerness :) Their officiant and musicians were close friends of theirs, and everything about the ceremony was so personalized to who they are.
I’m still looking to book a few more travel weddings this year (I have another one in Wisconsin and a summer wedding in Maine this year!) and would love to talk with you about your wedding!
