I absolutely loved spending the afternoon with Mallory and Rob for their downtown anniversary session. When Mallory contacted me, she was currently deployed and looking to have photos taken when she returned home. At one point, both her and Rob were in the military, so they have spent a lot of time away from each other. They have also done a lot of traveling, and Mallory said that one of her favorite memories together was when they recently made the trek from Alaska to Charleston. It was 7 straight days of driving through Canada and the US, and they cherished their time together, seeing the amazing-ness that is the United States!
When I first met up with them, I asked them if they had ever had professional photos taken. I expected them to say that they had at their wedding, but they hadn’t! They eloped a few years back with just a few friends in attendance, and didn’t have a professional photographer there. Once I knew that, it made my job all the more important! Not only to make them feel as comfortable as possible with this new experience, but also to give them photographs that they would cherish forever and be able to show their children one day!
I was so happy when Mallory emailed me after the session. Her email was filled with CAPS and !!! (which is so totally up my alley!) and she was ecstatic with their first portrait session. I love what I do, and I love thinking that now these two have a collection of portraits to document their love at this specific time in the lives!
