Robin & Brendan
Boone Hall Plantation
Oh what to say about this wedding. Robin and Brendan are two of the loveliest people. When I met them for their engagement session, I immediately liked them. They have personalities that make you feel instantly at ease and like you can just be yourself around them. You can tell that they are best friends. When we first met, I asked them the story of how the two of them first met. I loved the story so much that I asked Robin to type it up for me. (Maybe I love it because it includes Mexican food and margaritas…) Robin said: We met via Eharmony and had our first date at a Mexican restaurant in downtown Manhattan. Brendan thought I didn’t like him because I declined a second round of drinks – little did he know I declined because that first margarita was already pretty strong and I didn’t want to make a fool of myself in front of this really cool guy I just met!
And then about their proposal…which just makes me laugh because don’t us girls always ruin the surprise somehow?! Poor guys :) “Brendan got down on one knee in May 2015 at the New York Botanical garden… after I broke my toe walking in by not paying attention and kicking him in the back of the shoe with my open toe sandals, complaining about how sweaty I was all day (because it was SO hot!!!) and me declining to “sit down in a nice shady spot” to “relax” at Brendan’s request about 20 times… I couldn’t possibly have tried harder to ruin what I didn’t know was coming!”
Their wedding day was perfection! They did their first look at Jacob’s Alley, and we strolled around the streets of downtown Charleston before heading up to Boone Hall Plantation with their wedding party and family in tow. Brittany Ghio of Farmstead Design Studio created the most amazing invitation suite for Robin and Brendan, and did an absolutely stunning job with the decor for their reception! Gold tablecloths, wooden farmhouse tables, greenery, and geometric candle holders? Yup, pretty much my dream. (But you’ll have to scroll down pretty far to find those, because these two gave me SO MUCH TIME for portraits!) Alright, I could talk about these two and their fabulous team for days, but without further ado, here is their wedding day in photographs! They tried to do a lantern lighting into the river…it didn’t work…at all. And we laughed a lot :)
Thank you to all the wonderful vendors who made this day possible!
