A Kiawah Island Wedding

I’d been looking forward to Kristen and Matt’s Kiawah wedding ever since meeting the two of them last year for their in-home engagement session last year. The world cup was on, and Matt, being from England, had to see the end of the match. Luckily, they won that day, and we got some really fun shots of him dancing around the room, hugging Kristen and fist punching the air :)

Their wedding day was everything I imagined it would be. It was held in Kristen’s parent’s backyard right outside of Kiawah, and backyard weddings are always my favorites! There’s something so intimate about it being such a personal space. It was made even more special by the fact that Matt proposed to Kristen at this very spot! Samantha Anderson Events and the team at Duvall Events did such an amazing job transforming the backyard into a magical wedding venue! I also loved seeing their friends and family from two cultures brought together. I laughed A LOT during their toasts, which both started out as friendly roasts and then turned into how much they adored Kristen and Matt. I got teary-eyed when Matt stood up to thank his parents, Kristen’s parents, all the friends who had traveled from Europe to see him get married, and most of all, his lovely bride whom he never wanted to be apart from again!
