A Legare Waring House Engagement Session | Tara + Cody
I had the most lovely afternoon with Tara and Cody for their Legare Waring House engagement! They’re one of my couples getting married next year, so we started their session at their wedding location. When couples get married at an amazing venue like this, I love to be able to do their engagement photos AND their wedding photos here. Legare Waring House is such a sprawling, gorgeous property, and on your wedding day, you won’t have time to go to ALL the spots. I loved being able to take take to walk around the property for their engagement photos, and it was fun to dream about what their day will look like!
Obviously I had to take a photo of them in front of my favorite tree in all of Charleston. I don’t think I can have a Legare Waring House engagement without taking a photo in front of their massive, stunning live oak tree.
Cody gave me the biggest compliment a guy can give me at the end of their engagement session, saying, “Hey, that was actually a good time!” SUCCESS!! I told him that if the guy says that at the end of their engagement session, I’ve done my job :) He told me at the beginning of their session that he had been told that he was an expert photo-taker, and quickly laughed and told me he was TOTALLY kidding. By the end of their session, I told him that he could definitely tell people with confidence that he is, in fact, and expert photo-taker.
And then you have Tara, who is the queen of the beautiful “smize.” (Anyone with me there? Smile with your eyes a la Tyra Banks? My grandma swore that Tyra Banks is my distantly related cousin, but that’s another story for another time…) Tara was tracking with me on the Tyra Banks made-up word and had a good laugh at that, but seriously, Tara could be a model!
I loved getting to know the two of them as a couple, and seeing how easily they fell into step with each other, snuggled up, and laughed with each other. Tara told me when we talked that they love hiking, being outdoors, and good music. I could tell they were my type of laid-back, joyful, fun-loving people, and I’m SO excited to celebrate with them next year!!
