A Chalmers Street Engagement Session | Rachel + Zack
I met up with Rachel and Zack this spring for their Chalmers street engagement session! The jasmine was just blooming that week, and to me, that is the scent that will always make me think of Charleston in the spring. As I was walking around with Rachel and Zack, we kept sticking our faces in all the jasmine bushes, because the smell is just THAT good. Rachel was super excited when I was able to tell her what it was because she wanted to plant some of it back in Birmingham! I don’t know the names of many flowers, but that’s one I do know!
Rachel said I’m very type B which made me laugh because normally you would hear people bragging about how they’re Type A but you hardly ever hear anyone brag about how they’re Type B, but she said nope, I’m definitely Type B to a fault. As someone who also doesn’t really identify as a Type A personality, I can appreciate that.
Charleston is super special to these two! They’ve been together for 6 years, and just before they got engaged, they took a trip to Napa. Rachel was sure that Zack was going to propose then, cuz, hello, 6 years. He didn’t, and of course, she was upset since she had gotten her hopes up. The next weekend, seemingly very spur of the moment, Zack said, “let’s go to Charleston this weekend.” She didn’t want to, but he convinced her it was a trip for her mom. Zack ended up proposing in Hampton Park that weekend, so in the end, she was glad she came! And now they’ve traveled back for their engagement photos, and next year will tie the knot here!
