If you’re a fan of that little ole’ movie called The Notebook, you will absolutely love this Cypress Gardens Engagement session! As most people know, that was such an iconic movie, and a lot of it was filmed in Charleston! It was fun for me to rewatch the movie after I moved to Charleston, because I recognized so many of the locations. One of which was this gorgeous spot, Cypress Gardens!
Irena loves The Notebook, both the book and the movie. She had dreamed of having photos taken here, so when her and Anthony planned a trip around the Southeast, it was on the top of her list to visit Cypress Gardens! Anthony, ever the romantic, had written her letters upon letters over the course of their relationship. I love that Irena brought them along with her!
Anthony is a born and bred New Yorker, and I loved his Brooklyn accent. He had me cracking up the whole time and you could tell Irena was just used to his antics. Thankfully we took out the boat right when Cypress opened, and then took some photos walking around. When we were about to leave, all the boats were taken, as it had gotten a lot busier. Anthony looked at Irena and was like, “Don’t worry Bubba. If all the boats would have been taken, I would have gotten out my wallet and offered 50 bucks to someone and said, ‘Don’t ask any questions, just let me have your boat.’ And if that didn’t work, I’d call my cousins.” Just imagine all that in an amazing, classic Brooklyn accent :)
Thank you for an amazing session, Irena and Anthony!
