A Spring Wedding at Lowndes Grove in Charleston, SC | Reagan + Johnny

Reagan and Johnny were married at the ever-gorgeous Lowndes Grove on a spring day in Charleston, South Carolina. 

This was the 5th time I’d photographed Reagan and Johnny. We go aaaaaall the way back to Johnny’s incredibly thoughtful proposal(re: a handmade ring box he spent hours crafting, an outfit change for Reagan picked out by Johnny himself, two locations, and a brand new pair of Louboutin heels that Reagan had been dreaming of) and I’ve seen them a few times since, for their engagement photos, and also Reagan’s bridals, which I’ll blog soon! So it felt like walking in to a group of friends on their wedding day.

These two are as kind and warmhearted as they are a beautiful couple, and I’m so grateful that I’ve had the chance to work with them so many times. They had a lot of guests at the wedding, but it still felt like such an intimate, personalized wedding.

Thank goodness for a mama’s prayers, am I right? Reagan’s mom joked about this during her welcome toast at the reception. The whole week before Reagan and Johnny’s wedding, literally up until the morning of, heavy rains were in the forecast. During their entire getting ready time, we heard ominous thunder and watched the rain fall from the clouds. BUT, Reagan’s mom prayed and prayed all morning, and as soon as it was time for portraits, the rain cleared up and the thunder passed by. YAY MOM!

And that sunset?? Worth the rainy morning!
