Before Shannon and CJ’s wedding at the Island House, I met them for their engagement session on one of the coldest days Charleston has ever had. (That might be a little bit of an exaggeration, but not much!) I think the temperature was somewhere in the low 30’s when we met for their sunrise session. I knew right then and there that I loved this couple, and that I was so happy to get to work with them. Even though it was freezing, they made the best of it, and we had so much fun laughing and running around the beach trying to get warm. Fast forward a few months to their wedding. Thankfully it wasn’t as cold this time, but it was during one of the rainiest months Charleston had ever seen. The flood had happened a week before their wedding, so everyone in Charleston was pretty much rained out. The morning of their wedding looked like it could be the flood all over again. It was pouring down rain, and we thought we were going to have to move the wedding under the tent. I got to the venue early to start to look for places to take photos inside. Shannon and CJ were all smiles, and couldn’t care less about the rain. And right when it was time to start taking some photos, the sun came out in all its glory, and stayed out for the rest of the day! It was a wedding day miracle :)
I just can’t say enough about these two. They are so perfect for each other, and it was such a joy watching them together on their wedding day. CJ couldn’t stop crying when he saw Shannon walking down the aisle, and Shannon’s dad cried as well when he gave her away. And I love all of the photos of Shannon just beaming during the ceremony. Shannon and CJ, it was such an honor to be a part of your wedding day!
Thank you to all of the wonderful vendors who made this day possible!
