I met up with Jamie and Lane at McLeod Plantation. They were coming to Charleston to visit his family. They had been dating a few months, and after a whirlwind relationship, Jamie wanted to have some photos taken of them while they were in Lane’s hometown. Jamie asked if I could talk with Lane to decide on a location, since he knew the area better. A few minutes into my phone call with Lane, he said, “So, I’m actually planning on proposing halfway through the session…” I probably shrieked with excitement, as I usually do when a proposal is involved. Fast forward to the day of the session, and five minutes in I could tell that I was going to be friends with these two. We talked and laughed as we walked around, and all the while, Jamie thinks this is just a normal photosession. We went back to the car so that they could get their second outfit, and while Jamie is getting her clothes together, Lane leans around and says, “Ok, I’m going to ask as soon as we get back in there.” At this point, we’re both giddy and nervous, and Jamie still has NO idea. We walked back to the beautiful alley of oaks, and Lane gets down on one knee. Jamie’s hands flew to her face in disbelief, and she gave Lane the biggest hug when he got to his feet. She couldn’t stop going back and forth between laughing, crying, hugging, and looking at her new bling. Ahh it was adorable :) Jamie and Lane, I can’t WAIT to photograph your Virginia wedding next year!!
