The planning and culmination of this wedding was nothing short of a miracle! Both Erin and Jeff are captains in the military, and are very much on active duty! They met in college in ROTC, and although they were both stationed in different parts of the country after graduating, they managed to make long distance work for over 4 years! This included each of them doing separate tours of Afghanistan. Because of this, it was so difficult to plan a wedding.
Finally, just three weeks prior, June 3rd opened up at a beautiful venue outside of Charlottesville. Both of them looked at their calendars and decided to go for it! Three weeks is plenty of time to plan a wedding, right? I was AMAZED at how many of their family and friends were able to attend on such short notice! If that’s not a testament to how much this couple is loved, I don’t know what is.
Also, I think my favorite thing was how both Erin and Jeff told me that they were super awkward in front of the camera. And then I started taking their portraits and they were both STUNNING! It always makes me laugh when people don’t realize their hidden modeling talents :)
Erin and Jeff, I love your story. I love that you planned a wedding in three weeks, knowing that your marriage is so much more important than the actual wedding! Thank you SO much for your incredible, selfless service to our country!
