I first met Madeline and Sam at a little wine bar that’s close to the neighborhood where we both live. As soon as we sat down and starting talking, I knew I wanted to be their wedding photographer! The two of them are just joyful, relaxed, comfortable-in-their-own-skin type of people.
“We actually met at a bar in DC!” Madeline told me. “Sam had picked up a few rugby games with a university friend of mine, and the rugby team was celebrating a win that from that day when Sam sidled up to me at the bar. The rest, as they say, is history!
“When we got engaged, I was just coming home from an early morning coffee with my best friend (and now MOH), when I walked in to a delicious homemade breakfast. Sam had made pancakes from scratch and bacon – my favorite! After we filled our bellies, he dropped to his knee on our living room. (Still a miracle the puppies didn’t bowl him over!) Soon after, we took the dogs for a walk and kept it our secret for a few hours before calling family and friends!
“Our favorite things about life together are being outside, and being near the water. Our personalities really even each other out. I have high anxiety and move through life mile a minute, while Sam has a way of keeping me calm and putting everything into perspective. He also inspires me to slow down, be in the moment, and take life in. I love this man, and am so glad I get to marry him!”
Since meeting Madeline and Sam for the first time that day, I have loved getting to know them better on multiple occasions we have spent together – including some proposals and weddings that I photographed and they attended! Sam is the quiet spirit to Madeline’s energetic spirit, and I absolutely adore the way he smiles when she’s around. Their presence lights up the room, and I’m so thankful to know them both!
BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL! Loved all the pictures and the lovely memories. Thanks for sharing!
