Laura and Anthony’s wedding day at Magnolia Plantation was one of those perfect spring days that Charleston sometimes likes to hand out at the end of March. Sunshine, cool air, and not a hint of humidity. I had met with Laura and Anthony a few times before their wedding, and I absolutely adore these two. Walking into the bridal suite was like walking in to see a friend!
On the drive to the first look, Laura made me keep talking about my vacation to Italy so she wouldn’t be so nervous. And once she saw Anthony, I knew that we were in the clear. You could tell her nervousness instantly melted away when she saw his smile.
Laura and Anthony had told me a little bit about their relationship and proposal, and I liked it so much I wanted to share it here. Ten years after they first met at college, they found themselves in Charleston, SC. This is where they decided to give their relationship a real shot after years of being long distance. They both love the beach and Laura especially loves Sullivan’s Island (since it is her last name and all). Anthony had surprised her and bought me tickets to go back to Spain where she taught 3 years prior.
Two nights before they were leaving, Laura was stressing like crazy and decided to go to a spin class. Sweaty and gross, she was on her way to Target when Anthony told her they needed to go for a walk on the beach. It would calm her down and give them a chance to reflect before this big trip. She thought it was weird but probably a good idea. It was there that Anthony proposed and, as Laura says, she blacked out :)
I not only love this because I was gross and sweaty (just coming from teaching my dance cardio class!) when Drew proposed to me, but also because this story is SO Laura and Anthony! She is admittedly high stress, and every time I’ve seen them it’s so obvious that Anthony is the perfect guy for her. He instantly puts her at ease with his calm, easy-going nature. Whenever I’m around them it just makes me smile seeing them together!
