A Downtown Charleston Engagement Session
Marianne & Kevin
Marianne and Kevin came down to Charleston a few weekends back for their engagement session. They came from chilly Philly, and I was hoping Charleston would give them one of our 70 degree winter days. Charleston has been on a cold streak lately, even having schools cancelled one day. A “snow day,” they called it, even though it was just raining :) Luckily, they were in town on one of the more reasonable weekends, so Marianne wasn’t too cold as she walked around in her cute blue dress! As many couples do, Marianne and Kevin decided to have a destination wedding since both of their families are in different locations and will have to travel. And what better place to have a destination wedding than Charleston, South Carolina? I’m so excited for their May wedding with The Burlap Elephant, and we spent their engagement session walking the cobblestone streets outside of their downtown venue, The Confederate Home. I absolutely love engagement sessions, because it gives me a chance to get to know the bride and groom before their wedding day. And, it gives the couple practice in front of a camera! I love when a bride tells me, “My fiance is really nervous about getting his picture taken,” and then after the engagement session says, “Wow, you made that SO much easier than we were expecting! We love how the photos came out!” Kevin had said that he really didn’t like having his photo taken, but you could never tell from the photos below! He lights up with Marianne, and they made it so easy for me to capture their smiles and laughter. As we walked, they told me about the places I need to go when I visit Philadelphia for a wedding this year, and whether Philly cheesesteaks are worth all the hype. (For the record, they said yes, but you have to make sure you go to the right place :) )
I can’t wait to meet up with these two again for their wedding day! I have no doubt that it’s going to be one of those weddings where the whole day is filled with joy. See you soon, you two!
