Tara and Pete are getting married next spring at the lovely Magnolia Plantations and Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina. We spent an overcast afternoon that reminded me of my hometown of Seattle exploring the gardens for their engagement session. I’ve known Tara for a few months now. We met at the barre studio she owns when I stumbled in one day and quickly became addicted to it :) On the day of her and Pete’s engagement session, they show up, and the first thing Tara says to me is, “I might have had a mini-meltdown today.” I laughed, not sure if she was kidding, and asked why. She said she had gone to the hairstylist, and not realizing how humid it already was in Charleston, had her hair blown straight. She got home and it had already gotten frizzy. She looked at Pete and said, “Oh my gosh, I look RIDICULOUS! Look at how frizzy my hair is!!!” Pete, being the wonderful fiance that he is, looked at Tara and said, “Your hair looks great. You always look great.” Tara, looking in the mirror, turns to Pete and says, “How would you even know? Half of the time, YOU look ridiculous!” I was dying laughing at this point, and Pete just shrugged and said that it was probably true.
I love couples that are real with each other :)
And despite all of this, Tara has no idea what frizzy hair is (just wait until summer when my curly mane looks like a lion) and the two of them were absolutely adorable together. Frizzy hair or not, I’m all about documenting life as it is :)
