Marie and Michael came down to Charleston, South Carolina from Charleston, West Virginia to have their wedding. It made me smile all day when they talked about “the other Charleston.” They chose to have an intimate wedding at the beautiful Magnolia Gardens, with their family standing next to them as they committed their lives to one another. It’s fun to photograph all different kinds of weddings, but there’s just something to be said about a wedding that is stripped down to the basics. Just family standing by your side, a first look with your love, and a chance to walk around the beautiful gardens. Marie and Michael knew that their wedding day was about the two of them, and celebrating with their family and friends. I love when people truly understand the purpose of a wedding isn’t for all the details, frills, and fuss. It’s really easy to get caught up in all of that, and so to see a wedding that is about the couple and their love for each other is so refreshing.
Oh, and can we just talk about how amazing Marie’s gown is?! I’m always a fan of the BHLDN wedding collection :)
