My relationship with Gerry and Jason is one of those “small-world” stories. My husband worked with Jason out on Seabrook Island when he first moved to Charleston, so I had met Jason a few times when I came to visit. Fast forward a few years, and I had moved to Charleston. I met Gerry at the church that we both go to. Probably a year after I met her, she told me that she had met this guy and they started dating. He realized that we went to the same church, and asked Gerry if she knew Taylor, and she was like, “Wait, what, how, huh?!” So then she told me the connection, and it was the most random thing in the world, but I was SO HAPPY that they found each other!
These two are so great together. They haven’t even known each other for a year, but sometimes with the right person, when you know, you know! I love how the photographs show how giddy they are around each other. Gerry was a bundle of laughter the whole time. Jason said he has a tendency to fake smile for photos, but we didn’t even have to worry about that, because Gerry kept him smiling the whole afternoon. It was fun to explore Jason’s old stomping grounds, and it was the first time he had brought Gerry out there. I always love when I get to photograph on a dock, because you don’t find many of those that aren’t private property!
I absolutely cannot wait until Jason and Gerry’s wedding this summer in Belmont, North Carolina!
