A Historic Rice Mill Wedding

Sara & Michael

It was such an honor to photograph these two!  Michael and Sara met in college, when they were set up for a date by mutual friends.

“We’ve been together almost 7 years now!” Sara told me before the wedding. “When Michael proposed to me in Chicago, it was a complete surprise.  He had me thinking that we were going to a fake work event, so I got all dressed and ready to go.  We ended up going to the aquarium!  He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him (of course I said yes), but the big surprise came afterwards, when he surprised me with a limo full of our parents and brothers!  They had flown in from the Carolinas to celebrate.  It was incredibly special, and we can’t wait for our wedding day!”

Sara and Michael’s wedding was such a joyous day! From the moment they did the first look until the end of the day, every time Sara and Michael looked at each other, they had the biggest grins on their faces. Just remembering how sweet they were together puts a smile on my face! I love that they chose the Rice Mill for their wedding, which is situated right next to a big dock on the Charleston Harbor. Sara’s parents own a sailboat, and had just finished up a year of traveling the world. The docked their boat at the Harbor, and Sara asked if we could take some sunset photos on the boat. She said it would mean so much to her parents, and of course I was on board (catch my corny joke there?!)!

Sara and Michael, thank you so much for choosing me to document your wedding day!

Now Booking for 2016

I have 3 more weddings left of my 2015 season, and what a wedding season it has been! I’ve traveled to Portugal, Wisconsin, Charlotte, and have one more destination in Philadelphia before the season wraps up. I have photographed so many beautiful weddings in downtown Charleston, on plantations, at the ocean, on a lake, and in a castle. It’s been quite a year. I can’t wait to start blogging all that gorgeousness!

I’ve already started booking weddings for 2017 (!!) but for those of you who, like me, don’t plan that early, I still have spots open for 2016! I have some spots open in Charleston, and there’s always room for travel. I currently have a wedding booked in Maine, and I would love to add some more travel to my books! Visit my contact page to send me an email about wedding photography, and I would love to get to know you more! While I have loved every moment of this year, next year I will be scaling down JUST a little bit so I can focus more on each wedding. So that means if you would like to talk photos, let’s talk now so I can get you on the books!

I can’t WAIT to see what 2016 will bring!2015-11-16_00012015-11-16_0002 2015-11-16_0003 2015-11-16_0004 2015-11-16_0005 2015-11-16_0006 2015-11-16_0007 2015-11-16_0008 2015-11-16_0009 2015-11-16_0010 2015-11-16_0011 2015-11-16_0012 2015-11-16_0013 2015-11-16_0014 2015-11-16_0015 2015-11-16_0016
