Mary Catherine & Justin | A Legare Waring Engagement

A Legare Waring Engagement

Mary Catherine & Justin

Mary Catherine and Justin were in town from Nashville, and we met up at Legare Waring for their engagement session. I asked about how they first met, and Mary Catherine said the first time she met Justin, she just assumed he was way out of her league. Now, we can all agree that Justin is a good looking guy, but I had to hold back a laugh while I thought in my head, “This girl must have no IDEA how stunning she is!!!” Seriously Mary Catherine, no one is out of your league ? These two just eloped in GREECE, and I’m only mildly bummed that I wasn’t there to capture their day (and by mildly I mean I’ve been stalking their social media to see all the incredible photos!) They have been so sweet to send me recommendations for awesome places to go when I visit Nashville, and I could tell even by interacting with them for a short time that they are wonderful, kind people. Mary Catherine and Justin, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your Charleston engagement photos, and I hope your Grecian wedding was absolutely perfect!

Emily & Witt | Legare Waring House

Emily & Witt

A Legare Waring House Wedding

“He is my relief.”

Those are the words that Emily spoke to me right before her first look with Witt. I had asked her how she was feeling, and she said that she just couldn’t wait to see Witt, because he is her relief.

That phrase has stuck with me since then. What a beautiful thought, that the person you love is your relief. When you are anxious, excited, stressed, overwhelmed, all you need is that person.

Emily and Witt had the sweetest personalized vows for their ceremony. Emily told Witt that she didn’t even have the time to fully tell him how much he means to her, because that would take forever. She told him that she fell in love with him slowly, from the first time he walked into the gym with his shirt inside out, and then all at once. I kept overhearing Witt at the reception saying, “She chose me. She chose ME.”

One of my favorite parts of their wedding was when the College of Charleston Gospel Choir sang during their prelude. Right before the ceremony, they came over to Emily and Witt to do a private song for them. They chose to sing Stand By Me, having no idea that it was the song Emily and Witt chose for their first dance!

I’ve absolutely loved getting to know these two over the past few years, and it was such an honor to be a part of their wedding day. They are some of the most genuine people I know, and they are going to do such great things together!
