Marianne + Kevin
A Downtown Charleston Wedding in Charleston, SC
Tropical Storm Ana threatened to be the uninvited guest on Marianne and Kevin’s wedding day. We all watched as the sky grew darker and darker. Marianne really wanted to have the ceremony outside (and who wouldn’t, at this gorgeous venue?) so the wonderful ladies over at The Burlap Elephant held off until the last moment to set up the chairs. Marianne and Kevin decided to do a first look, and what a sweet moment it was! I love when I set up the groom for the first look, and he is full of nerves getting ready to see his bride, and as soon as he sets eyes on her, all those nerves just disappear. That’s exactly how it was with these two :) During our portrait time, it kept going from sunny to rainy, and the whole bridal party just laughed as we ran from one spot to another to avoid getting drenched. Thankfully, it decided to be sunny for the whole ceremony, just for Marianne and Kevin!
At their reception, Kevin’s family had brought wine from the vineyard that they own (so cool, right?!). I walked in and was wondering why all the wine bottles had his last name on it :) These two are one of the humblest couples I know. Marianne went to Yale and everyone told me how incredibly smart she is, and Kevin’s family owns this amazing vineyard and produces delicious wines, and during their engagement session they didn’t tell me any of this! They just pretended to be a normal couple, probably so I didn’t feel bad about myself :) All that to say, they are some of the most down-to-earth, lovely people I have met. I’m so happy to have been a part of their wedding day!
Thank you to all the vendors who made this day possible!
