An Elopement at the Angel Oak

Jordan and Kevin’s wedding day was nothing short of magical. The weather was looking pretty scary for that day, with forecasts of heavy rain and thunderstorms. Their contingency plan was to have the ceremony at a gazebo downtown, but Jordan and Kevin had fallen in love with the idea of getting married under the beautiful Angel Oak. They made a game time decision to have their ceremony there despite the rain. And boy oh boy, did it rain. But that only added to the magic. They laid down a blanket under one of the branches, and said their vows with the family surrounding them. After the ceremony, we splashed around in the rain and mud for a little bit, with Jordan and Kevin laughing and beaming the whole time. From the moment I heard their story, I knew I had to photograph their wedding. You know when you hear someone’s story and you just know they are amazing people? That’s Jordan and Kevin.
