A Folly Beach Engagement I knew from the moment that I met these two that I liked them as separate people, and I liked them as a couple. They pulled up early to their engagement session with huge smiles on their faces, ready to get cuddly and take some photos. They are those people you just want to be friends with because they radiate joy and self-confidence. I couldn’t get over Laura’s absolutely adorable smile, and the way the Michael looks at her is precious. I can’t wait to see his face when he sees her for the first time on their wedding day!
I love asking my couples how they met, and about their proposal story. Their proposal story made me laugh and say, “Ahh, I’m so happy you were in sweatpants, because I was too and it’s one of my favorite parts of my story!!” They were traveling up to Michigan to go to a football game at their alma mater. They had an early flight, and Michael remembers Laura saying, “Man I’m gonna look rough when we get to Michigan.” He was planning on proposing as soon as they arrived, and he didn’t want to change his plans. (I don’t blame him! Who wants to walk around with a diamond in your pocket?!) So, as soon as they arrived on the campus where they met a few years earlier, he dropped down to one knee and proposed. Laura in sweat pants and all. This made me think back to my proposal. I had just gotten done teaching my hip hop class and was sweaty, had no makeup, and was wearing the baggiest sweatpants ever when Drew proposed!! But, as I told Laura and Michael, doesn’t that just make the surprise that much better?? She said she had absolutely no idea it was coming at that moment, and I just can imagine the smiles on both of their faces right then :)
