Crystal & Brandon
A Boone Hall Plantation Wedding I adored everything about Crystal and Brandon’s Boone Hall Plantation wedding. From the moment I walked through the front door and was greeted by Crystal’s bridesmaid Amanda, I knew it was going to be a great day. Amanda opened the door with the biggest smile on her face, and all the girls were so excited to celebrate Crystal. The guys joked around with Brandon as they got ready, and helped him out with his bow tie :) You know Crystal was a laid-back bride when she let the boys watch the end of the Carolina basketball game on their phones right before the ceremony started. (Go Gamecocks!)
Because portraits were important to Crystal and Brandon, we built in so much time in their timeline to take wedding party portraits, as well as the first look and portraits with Crystal and Brandon. It made for such a stress-free afternoon, as we were able to take our time walking around the plantation. Crystal and Brandon had time to just be with each other on their wedding day, talking to each other, cuddling up for photos, and just being able to enjoy each other without distraction. I can’t say enough how important this is on a wedding day!
Brandon and Crystal had a traditional Jewish ceremony, and one of my favorite parts of the day was right before the ceremony as they signed their Ketubah, or their Jewish wedding license. Crystal got teary-eyed as the best man signed in his place, and when Brandon lifted the veil over her head and gave her the biggest hug, their smiles were priceless. They were both beaming again as Crystal walked out to meet Brandon under the huppah. Another favorite moment was during their toasts. After the maid of honor and best man had brought tears and laughter to all the guests, Brandon and Crystal both said their thanks to their families and to each other. Even I got misty-eyed as they spoke of their respect and love for each other, and thanked their families for raising them to be who they are.
I’ve gotten to know Brandon and Crystal a bit both from their engagement session, and when I asked Crystal to model for a styled shoot for me. They are delightful people, separately and together. I have no doubt that their marriage will be one of adventure, love, and many happy days to come. Thank you so much, Crystal and Brandon, for letting me celebrate such a joyous day with you! During the getting ready, Crystal had told me she was going to “ice” Brandon for her garter toss. You remember how that goes. Hide a Smirnoff ice and whoever finds it has to chug it? She hid one in her garter, and Brandon played along nicely when he found it. Crystal said while she was getting ready, “I hope he remembers what getting iced means…it’s not like we’re in college anymore.” :)
Thanks to all the wonderful vendors who made this day possible!
