A Wedding at The Sutherland Estates and Gardens

Tabitha and Ethan’s wedding day took place on a warm summer evening at The Sutherland Estates and Gardens outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. Tabitha and Ethan are high school sweethearts, and Tabitha told me that Ethan tried to get her to talk to him for years before he finally won her over her junior year of high school. They went to different colleges, and so after four years of long distance, Ethan proposed to Tabitha right before she graduated. They decided not to do a first look (but they DID schedule in a full hour of portrait time after the ceremony + at sunset, wink wink!), but as they held hands around a door, she gave him a box full of notes that he had written her in high school. As Ethan read them and reminisced, he went back and forth between tears and laughter.

When I think of Tabitha and Ethan, I think of love that is so sweet, and a couple that is full of joy when they are together. The smiles they bring out in one another is so beautiful to see! They make everyone around them feel welcomed and accepted. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much giddy laughter interspersed with happy tears as I did on their wedding day. Tabitha’s three sisters and Ethan’s brother were a part of their wedding party, and you can tell how important family is to both of them. It was so obvious that they are loved by many.

They chose dark greenery and white blooms to fill their tables, and their head table was filled with green, white and gold accents. Embellished blooms created a stunning bouquet, as well as a simple white flower crown for Tabitha. The Sutherland Estate and Gardens looks like you stepped into a village in Europe mixed with a Southern flair. The grounds complemented the color theme, with a ceremony backdrop of dark greenery and the white, Southern-style home.
