A Governor Thomas Bennett House Wedding

Those smiles. They say it all.

Literally from the second I walked in to see the girls on wedding day, Laura had the biggest smile on her face. She said that she felt so at ease as soon as she saw Michael for the first time. It was so sweet watching them walk towards each other, both with tears in their eyes and the biggest grins on their faces.

They told me before their wedding that they were so excited for their first look, because they would be able to spend some time alone to really think about what the day meant. There’s a lot of advice I can give about wedding days, but this is one of my favorite pieces to share. Make sure you have time on your wedding day to just be together, without any guests or interruptions. Everything goes so fast, and this is a nice moment to take it all in. First looks are a great time to do this!

During the ceremony, Laura and Michael shared their favorite things about one another. Laura loves that Michael has a quiet confidence and laid back demeanor. Michael loves that Laura will do anything for her friends and that she is a wonderful listener. Laura loves that she is filled with overwhelming happiness even in the simplest of moments with Michael. He loves that she can find humor in almost every situation, even if it means laughing at herself. And my favorite, when Laura said she loves their shared obsession with Harry Potter and ice cream, and Michael said that Laura is just drop dead gorgeous :)

Laura told her bridesmaids not even to tell her if her dress was getting dirty or if anything was going wrong. She didn’t care at all, today was the day she married Michael, and that was all that mattered.
