Emily & Witt
A Legare Waring House Wedding
“He is my relief.”
Those are the words that Emily spoke to me right before her first look with Witt. I had asked her how she was feeling, and she said that she just couldn’t wait to see Witt, because he is her relief.
That phrase has stuck with me since then. What a beautiful thought, that the person you love is your relief. When you are anxious, excited, stressed, overwhelmed, all you need is that person.
Emily and Witt had the sweetest personalized vows for their ceremony. Emily told Witt that she didn’t even have the time to fully tell him how much he means to her, because that would take forever. She told him that she fell in love with him slowly, from the first time he walked into the gym with his shirt inside out, and then all at once. I kept overhearing Witt at the reception saying, “She chose me. She chose ME.”
One of my favorite parts of their wedding was when the College of Charleston Gospel Choir sang during their prelude. Right before the ceremony, they came over to Emily and Witt to do a private song for them. They chose to sing Stand By Me, having no idea that it was the song Emily and Witt chose for their first dance!
I’ve absolutely loved getting to know these two over the past few years, and it was such an honor to be a part of their wedding day. They are some of the most genuine people I know, and they are going to do such great things together!
