Lizzy and Chris were married on a beautiful day at Middleton Place. Lizzy was so excited to see Chris, and you could tell that as soon as they did their first look all her nervousness melted away!
While I was with the girls during the morning, Lizzy told me that she really hated having her photo taken, and that it wasn’t my fault if she tried to rush through. After about 10 minutes of taking portraits, she looked at me and said, “This is so FUN!” I think I literally jumped with joy! My absolute favorite part of wedding days is getting to spend time with just the couple, giving them time to talk and reflect on what this day means. The two of them couldn’t keep the smiles off their faces when they were together.
Middleton Place is a gorgeous venue, and one of the prettiest spots is right below the ceremony location, called “The Butterfly Lakes.” Being that it is Charleston, water sometimes equals alligators. On this particular day, there were a few small-ish gators (by that I mean definitely bigger than me!) sitting in between the two ponds. Lizzy and Chris, being the fearless couple that they are, wanted to make sure they got their photo with the gator. I made sure we didn’t get TOO close, but it was a fun added excitement to the day :)
Lizzy’s dad said the sweetest words about Chris during his speech. “I have some amazing men in my family,” he said. “And Chris is the perfect addition!” He said that he is a stand up guy, and a decent man who shows integrity and love towards his daughter. I thought that was one of the sweetest moments of the day, to have such praise from your future father-in-law!
Lizzy and Chris, you are beautiful people inside and out. Everything that you shared with me on and before your wedding day solidified to me that you are an amazing couple, and you are going to change this world for the better!
