It was such an honor to photograph these two! Michael and Sara met in college, when they were set up for a date by mutual friends.
“We’ve been together almost 7 years now!” Sara told me before the wedding. “When Michael proposed to me in Chicago, it was a complete surprise. He had me thinking that we were going to a fake work event, so I got all dressed and ready to go. We ended up going to the aquarium! He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him (of course I said yes), but the big surprise came afterwards, when he surprised me with a limo full of our parents and brothers! They had flown in from the Carolinas to celebrate. It was incredibly special, and we can’t wait for our wedding day!”
Sara and Michael’s wedding was such a joyous day! From the moment they did the first look until the end of the day, every time Sara and Michael looked at each other, they had the biggest grins on their faces. Just remembering how sweet they were together puts a smile on my face! I love that they chose the Rice Mill for their wedding, which is situated right next to a big dock on the Charleston Harbor. Sara’s parents own a sailboat, and had just finished up a year of traveling the world. The docked their boat at the Harbor, and Sara asked if we could take some sunset photos on the boat. She said it would mean so much to her parents, and of course I was on board (catch my corny joke there?!)!
Sara and Michael, thank you so much for choosing me to document your wedding day!
