The Cedar Room Wedding
Annsley & Taylor
Annsley + Taylor’s Cedar Room wedding was my last wedding of 2017, and it was the perfect wedding to end an amazing year. The way these two interact with each other is so sweet. You can tell they are best friends who adore each other and can’t get enough of one another!
“I met Annsley in college at the University of Georgia,” Taylor said. “Annsley and her friends liked to frequent the two bars where I worked and would be willing to discount their tabs. In return, Annsley helped me sharpen my swing dancing skills before formal dances. We especially grew close over our summers together in Athens. I’d bring Annsley lunch in the afternoons while she was at her job, and she’d share her McDonald’s milkshake coupons with me after a hot round of golf!
“Looking out for each other was something that came naturally, and a year and a half apart while I was away at law school was as long as we could stand it. I asked Annsley to accompany me to the Barrister’s Ball in February 2016. The rest became history. Annsley started teaching in Charleston after graduating from UGA, while I finished my last year of school. When it was my turn to graduate, there was no way I was going to start another chapter without her, and I asked her to be my wife.”
“Taylor surprised me in the parking lot outside my classroom, before a trip to see my family at the beach!” Annsley told me. “He was on one knee before I knew what was happening, and when I came to my senses, I already had the most beautiful ring on my finger and my arms around his precious neck. My best friend had locked me in forever! I am so excited to see where life takes us, college campuses across the country, as proven already, nights awake taking care of all our babies, nights spent deciding what college town to send our babies to, and beyond!
“We have grown to love doing things that the other loves. We are both huge college sports fans. I enjoy watching Star Wars with Taylor, and he has bought me Broadway Dirty Dancing tickets for our first Valentine’s Day as husband and wife! Taylor loves cooking, I enjoy taste testing, we are both obsessed and in love with our three year old dog, Grace, and we are both adjusting to mountain life in Montana. Pizza, beer and The Office is our dinner and show of choice on a Friday night after a long week of work. We try to make every moment fun!”
My favorite moments of the day were watching Annsley’s younger brother cry when he saw her in her dress, watching Taylor and Annsley embrace during the sweet time of prayer during their ceremony at the Cedar Room, and listening to the lyrics of the beautiful first dance song, “I Get to Love You,” by Ruelle. If you haven’t heard it, go give it a listen. It still gives me the chills every time I hear it!
Annsley and Taylor, thank you SO much for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day!!
