Caroline and John’s wedding at the Creek Club at I’on was yet another reminder (as if I needed one!) of how INCREDIBLY blessed I am by the amazing couples that book me to photograph their wedding. I woke up on Sunday morning to gray skies, thunder, lightning, and the threat of hail. When I arrived to The Dewberry, Caroline was getting her makeup done and was nothing but smiles. She and her bridesmaids were giddy with excitement, and could care less about the rainy day. They popped champagne, danced around to a great playlist, and couldn’t keep the smiles off their faces.

Despite the ground being soaked through, Caroline and John still chose to do their first look out on the dock when the rain subsided for a bit. Their ceremony was moved from the lawn to the porch, but that didn’t phase the two of them one bit. Honestly, the rain hitting the metal roof at Creek Club at I’On during the ceremony was pretty incredible. I heard a few of the guests talking later in the night about how it was the most romantic ceremony they’d ever been to! Caroline and John, you are once again proof that a wedding day is about so much more than everything going according to plan. It’s about gathering in one place with your closest family and friends. It’s about celebrating love. It’s about committing your life to your best friend, today and forever. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of such an incredible day. You two deserve nothing but the best!

Don’t worry, it had stopped raining by this point! Caroline wasn’t getting drenched with rain :) :)
