My Favorite Charleston Elopement Venues
If y’all have followed my blog for a little bit, you know that I LOVE elopements. Whenever I post about them, I can’t help but gush about how special I think they are. I love that the couples who elope can be so intentional. They can be intentional about the location, since it’s just the two of them (and sometimes their families!) who are traveling. A lot of times my elopement couples will write their own vows, because they don’t have to say them in front of too many people, so they don’t feel as nervous about speaking from their heart. They can focus on the meaning of their wedding day, which is the commitment they’re making to each other! Trust me, I love big weddings too. I had a big wedding myself! But elopements have always held a special place in my heart. Below are some of my favorite Charleston elopement venues!
Magnolia Plantation
I love Magnolia Plantation for elopements. There’s just SO many locations for amazing photographs here! Every time I have done an elopement here, the ceremony has been in a different location. The options are just endless. It’s beautiful any time of year with the oak trees with spanish moss, and in the spring, the blooms are especially vibrant!
Legare Waring House
This is just one of my favorite venues period. THAT TREE. It’s the perfect spot for any ceremony. Legare has gorgeous landscapes, as well as a beautiful house and classic Charleston iron gates.
Folly Beach
If you’re looking to elope on the beach, Folly is definitely the way to go. This beach has a laid-back vibe, and it’s always my go-to beach for photoshoots of any kind. My favorite part is that you have beach and ocean on one side, and the gorgeous Charleston marsh on the other side!
White Point Gardens
This is where I do the majority of my elopements, for good reason! This park is right in downtown Charleston. Because of that, you get the best of both worlds! Gorgeous trees and nature, as well as the beautiful, classic, romantic Charleston architecture. There’s so much you can do with this space!
The Angel Oak
Charleston boasts some pretty amazing oak trees with beautiful spanish moss. The Angel Oak is one of the oldest and biggest of its kind! It’s pretty incredible to have a ceremony under these ancient branches. The road in is beautiful as well, and makes for some beautiful portraits!
