A Lowndes Grove Elopement | Charleston, South Carolina
I was so happy to get to celebrate with Sarah and James at their Lowndes Grove elopement! If you know me at all, you know that I LOVE elopements. So even though this year has brought a lot of hard discussions, frustrations, and sadness, one of the good things that has come out of it is photographing so many amazing elopements and intimate weddings! So when Sarah + James reached out to me about their Lowndes Grove elopement, I was all in! It was just the two of them, their officiant, their wedding planners, me…and a bagpipe player! Not gonna lie, the bagpipes gave the coolest ambience as we walked around taking portraits! It was pretty special to have all the grounds completely to ourselves. Everything about their day felt unhurried and peaceful, which is one of my favorite parts of elopements! Sarah and James were able to focus fully on each other and the commitment they were making that day.
Sarah and James’ weddings planners and I kept saying how adorable Sarah’s laugh was, and how whenever she laughed we all ended up laughing. She and James were so JOYFUL to be getting married, and it was a beautiful sight to behold. I’m so thankful that even in a crazy year, I’ve been able to photograph joyful people. If this year has taught us anything, it’s the importance of community and holding our loved ones close!
