A Minneapolis Backyard Wedding | Candace + Chris

Well, here’s another backyard wedding that I’m absolutely obsessed with. This time, it’s a Minneapolis wedding! There’s just something about backyard weddings that makes my heart sing. I don’t know if it’s the fact that it always seems more intimate, or that when people choose to have a wedding in a backyard, it’s always a spectacular backyard! Candace and Chris actually used two backyards for their wedding :) The ceremony was at their friend’s house right on a beautiful Minneapolis lake (after all, Minnesota is the “land of 10,000 lakes”!) and their reception was back at their home. Both spaces were absolutely gorgeous, and I couldn’t get enough of the orange and yellow leaves!

I may have gotten made fun of MULTIPLE times for saying “y’all,” but it was worth it to come up north to Minneapolis for Candace and Chris’ beautiful wedding day! I mean, you can’t get any better than those autumn trees reflecting into the lake. (And let’s be honest, the Minnesota accent is pretty distinct too…)

It was a little chilly the day before the wedding, and Candace woke up at 3 am on her wedding day, praying that the sun would come out to provide a little warmth. God was obviously smiling down on their day, because right as Candace was about to walk down the aisle, the sun came out for her, and it was gorgeous! 

I loved how sweet Candace and Chris were together. Candace laughs with her whole body, while Chris smirks and pretends he’s only mildly amused with everything. You can tell he’s just tickled pink by Candace though :) I loved the way Candace was giddy around Chris, and I love that Chris was so obviously smitten with this gorgeous woman he now calls his wife. I’m so happy that I was able to make the journey up to Minneapolis to celebrate with the two of them!
