An Intimate Wedding in Philadelphia | Stacie + Ryan

This May, I flew up north for Stacie and Ryan’s intimate Philadelphia wedding. If you follow me on Instagram, you may remember this from the weekend of 3 weddings in 3 states! It was quite the whirlwind of a Memorial Day weekend, but I loved getting to celebrate with each couple! 

Stacie and Ryan are two of the sweetest people you’ve ever met. I was supposed to fly up last summer to do their engagement session, but we postponed it due to covid. Stacie and Ryan were so sweet about it…they knew I had a tiny baby at home, and didn’t want me to risk traveling at that point. Because of that, we ended up doing their engagement session the day before their wedding! I think it only added to the excitement of the wedding weekend!

I absolutely love Stacie and Ryan’s story. They grew up a street away from each other and attended the same high school. Yet somehow they never met until fate (aka a dating app) brought them together. Their first date at Starbucks lasted over two hours, as they bonded over their love for movies and pizza.

Stacie also LOVES ice cream. As in, almost as much as she loves Ryan. Being the smart man that he is, Ryan hid her engagement ring in the ice cream bowl stack, because he knew that it was the one place she was bound to check every night! When she found the ring, Ryan proposed, and of course, they celebrated with ice cream and sprinkles!

I love that Stacie and Ryan were up for anything on their wedding day. It may have been chilly, and it may have been raining (snowing??) but they grabbed their umbrellas and embraced a little outdoor cuddling.

I’ve known Stacie’s family for awhile, as I photographed her sister’s wedding a few years back in Atlantic City. This is when I first met Stacie, and so I was THRILLED when she reached out to me telling me she was engaged and in need of a wedding photographer! I was joking with them that I need them to keep making excuses for me to fly up north to photograph their sweet family!
