A Tradd Street Engagement in Downtown Charleston, SC | Bethany + Alex

Bethany and Alex are one of my 2023 wedding couples, and I loved meeting them in downtown Charleston for their Tradd Street engagement session! I know I’ve said this before, but I love engagement sessions so much because they allow me to get to know a couple before their wedding day. It’s one thing to talk on the phone or Facetime with them before the wedding day, but it’s a whole different type of intimate to get in front of the camera :) 

Speaking of, you would never know that Alex isn’t a big fan of PDA by these images! (It didn’t hurt that it was one of the rare, actually chilly fall days in Charleston…I love that for the last few photos, they put on their coats and we got some “winter” looking photos!) When we started Bethany and Alex’s engagement session, I asked who was more cuddly between the two of them. Bethany laughed and said she would be surprised if Alex actually kisses her in front of everyone when their officiant says, “You may now kiss the bride!”. He said, “Yeah…I might just have to give her a high-five instead.” ⁠

But as you’ll see as you scroll through their photos, Alex warmed up to the idea of getting cuddly on the streets of Charleston. I absolutely love the joy radiating on their faces in these pictures, and I’m so excited to celebrate with them at their wedding this year! Bethany and Alex, I can’t wait to see y’all again SO soon!
