A Historic Downtown Charleston Proposal | Jason + Bri

Jason did the best job planning his historic downtown Charleston proposal to Bri! They were in town for a weekend getaway staying in a cute little Airbnb in the historic downtown Charleston district. Jason had planned a fun morning, starting with a little stroll through downtown before breakfast. Spotting a cool alleyway, he suggested they walk down it to get to the next street. Little did Bri know, this is where he was going to get down on one knee and propose! After the proposal, Bri told me that as they were walking, she was so confused when Jason stopped and turned towards her. They had always talked about how they wanted a private proposal, and there was this woman standing at the end of the alley just in front of where he turned to her. After he started proposing, she realized I was taking photos and it all made sense. I love that Jason had her fooled right up until the last minute!

Every proposal, I always love hearing the story leading up to the day. I can never imagine the stress of the person proposing, trying to hide the ring for months, planning on how to get their partner to the right place and the right time, let alone what they’re going to say! All I have to say is, I’m grateful I wasn’t the one doing the proposing in my relationship :) I’m always so impressed to see what an amazing job people do with this!
