Kristi and Kellen’s wedding day in South Paris, Maine, brought with it many happy tears. They were both teary-eyed as they opened their gifts to each other. Kellen made Kristi a beautiful book and as she started flipping through the pages, she said, “Ahh! I can’t do this until I see him, I’m going to bawl my eyes out!” As Kellen waited for Kristi for their first look, tiny raindrops fell, and he couldn’t stop his eyes from misting over in excited anticipation. Their first look will go down as one of my favorites. Both of them crying, hugging, laughing, all with the rain misting around them.
I knew both Kellen and Kristi in college, and it’s always a beautiful thing to see a love story unfold. I remember a few years after college, Kellen called my husband to tell him about how he and Kristi had started dating. Kristi was in her best friends’ wedding, and asked Kellen if he wanted to be her date. He didn’t have any vacation time for work, so he scheduled a tooth extraction he had been putting off so he could take medical leave. Can you tell that he knew she was the one?! :) Because of the rain, they were married inside of the beautiful barn. Even though that was the rain plan, I’m pretty sure it was meant to be. With everyone cozy inside, Kellen and Kristi both cried as she walked down the aisle. I’m so honored to have been able to photograph this beautiful, emotional, love-filled day! This is what happens when my husband is a guest at the wedding and I ask him to take over my camera for a quick photo of me and a college friend :)
Thank you to all the wonderful vendors who made this day possible!
