Laura and Brett had a backyard wedding at her parent’s home in Charleston, South Carolina. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know how much I LOVE backyard weddings. It adds another element of intimacy and a sweet personal touch to a wedding. To add to the personal touches, we did their engagement session at the house that Laura bought and Brett helped her renovate, and that they now call their home.
I’m pretty sure words can’t do justice to my thoughts on these two as people or to my thoughts on their beautiful wedding day. Everything about these two is just so personal and thoughtful, and they welcome you in like they’ve known you for ages. One of my favorite touches were the personalized notes that Laura and Brett wrote for EVERY one of their guests. They had photos of the guest on the front, and a long note on the back. I mean, WHAT?! That just shows how these two make every person in their lives feel so special and loved. Laura and Brett, the two of you are some of the most quality people I have ever met. Thank you for your kindness and for making me feel so valued. You deserve the best in your marriage and your life, and I was so honored to have been part of your wedding day!
Another thing that made this wedding day so special is that Laura put together all her own floral arrangements. She’s an incredibly talented florist in the Charleston area. Her shop is called Lux and Union. (If you’re aren’t following her, go do it! Her work is gorgeous!) When I walked into her kitchen on her wedding day, I knew that I was going to see something stunning! I love that Laura was true to herself, and created a beautiful “tropical” bouquet, as she called it. Bright colors, crazy ferns, and that red flower that looks like coral! Needless to say, I had so much fun photographing all her gorgeous details.
