A Runnymede Wedding | Abbie + Brian

Abbie and Brian had a beautiful Runnymede wedding last fall in Charleston. Runnymede is such a cool location because it is literally a blank slate. There’s nothing there besides a couple of ruins, so you can completely make it your own. The team from Ooh! Events did such an incredible job enhancing the natural beauty of Runnymede. Just wait until you see the ceremony! Their floral arch was one of my favorites, and it looked so natural tucked into the trees at Runnymede. 

This wedding was yet another weekend where I felt SO blessed by an incredibly joyful couple. I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve such wonderful people to photograph, but hey, I’ll take it!

Just look at these two! Abbie and Brian were the most welcoming, sweet people. I hadn’t met them before their wedding, which is pretty unusual for me. But with them being from out of town, and then that little thing called the pandemic, they weren’t able to travel down before their wedding. But the moment I walked in their getting ready suites, it was like seeing old friends. I felt so welcomed by both of them and their sweet families.

They both told me that they had nervous butterflies on the shuttle over to Runnymede, right before their first look. After they saw each other, they sat down and read letters to each other. Abbie was the cutest, sweetest bundle of laughs, and Brian just kept smiling when he looked at her laughing.

One of my favorite personalized touches about their wedding was something I’ve never seen before. On their cocktail napkins, they had little “fun facts” about each other. For instance, Fun Fact No. 3 is that “Abbie and Brian are proud ‘same siders’ when eating out. Don’t knock it til you try it.” (And I’ll be honest, the last time Drew and I went to a restaurant, I actually mentioned that, and we sat on the same side, and I see where you’re coming from, Abbie and Brian!!) Fun Fact No 1 might be my favorite…”Abbie now enjoys camping and going to NBA games. Brian now enjoys watching the Bachelorette.” HA! Abbie, you win on that one. Drew got me into camping, but I have yet to convince him to watch the Bachelorette with me!
