A Joyful Engagement Session | Natalie + Troy
Well this was just the most joyful engagement session! Natalie and Troy were SO much fun to photograph at their downtown Charleston and Folly Beach engagement session. These two are SO full of joy, and were so delightful to be around. Natalie was constantly belly laughing, and was so tickled by everything we did during their photoshoot. I loved seeing how Natalie made Troy chuckle and shake his head at her enthusiasm.
My favorite part might have been when Troy said, “Ok, so now it’s time for my solo shot, right?” Oh Troy, you might have said that as a joke, but jokes on you, because you know I definitely made him take some solo shots after that :)
I loved hearing Natalie and Troy’s story during their engagement session. They told me about how their second date was to see Hamilton. Um, excuse me?! Troy called Natalie after he had bought the tickets and said, “I might have done something crazy…” I mean, second date to Hamilton?! Talk about an amazing date! After the show they went to a speakeasy, and everyone was dressed to the nines in clothes that looked like you had stepped back in time. Natalie grew up dancing, and so to impress her, Troy asked two sweet 70 year old women to dance. Can you just imagine Natalie falling in love right then and there??
On our way back from the beach, a couple asked what kind of photos we were taking. Natalie told them they were engagement photos, and the couple told us they had been married for 39 years. As we walked down the long road from the lighthouse, we chatted with the couple, whose advice was to compliment each other every day. We talked with them the whole way back, and it just solidified to me what kind, sweet people Natalie and Troy are. They’re people who make strangers feel like friends, and have a genuine appreciation for people and their stories.
I can’t wait for y’alls wedding next year with the wonderful Ooh Events!!!
