Jason and Katie Middleton. SUCH a fun couple. I had the pleasure of taking pictures at their “planned elopement” wedding. When she first told me about the idea behind planned elopement, I was a little bit confused as to how you could plan to elope. But as she told me the details, I loved how sweet their thoughts were on marriage. Katie said that her and Jason really wanted to put the focus on the actual MARRIAGE part of the wedding, not the big show and production that it can turn into. I just love that! Their focus was on each other, on their love, and on the commitment they were making to each other. Love.

As Katie was telling me the story of how they decided to come to Middleton Place all the way from Fort Worth, Texas, I knew I had to share the story with everyone! So here it is, straight from Katie and Jason : )

Jason’s family (the Middleton’s) are related to the Middleton’s who owned Middleton Place. Jason had been down to Charleston, and had fallen in love with the beauty, history, and family connection of this plantation. When Katie met Jason two years ago, he often talked about how much he loved the place, and showed Katie the pictures he had in his home of Middleton Place. After Jason proposed, they started talking about places to get married: the beach, a family lake house, Vegas (just kidding, says Katie!), and a mountaintop in Colorado, but nothing seemed right. When Jason mentioned the Middleton Place, everything just clicked. And, as Katie said, “I guess this is the part where you say, and the rest is history!”
