Folly Elopement Photographer | Folly Beach, South Carolina

Y’all know that I love elopements, and I loved being a Folly elopement photographer for this wedding! I love how intimate the ceremony is when it’s just the bride and groom, and possibly a few family members in attendance. Kim and Gerry eloped at Folly Beach, and what was extra special about this elopement is that it was a surprise! Their families knew that they were engaged, but they had originally planned their wedding for October. With everything going on with covid, they weren’t sure what October would look like. When they realized that their families would all be in town at the same time, they planned a surprise elopement in two weeks! They told their family that they were going out to a fancy dinner, so everyone was dressed up. The officiant and I pretended to be friends of a friend who was at the gathering, just stopping over to say hi before dinner. There was music going, and Gerry told everyone to come out onto the porch for a photo. All of a sudden the music changed, and Kim walked out in her wedding dress! It was so fun to see all the surprised faces! Even Kim’s son, who walked her down the aisle, only found out about the ceremony moments before it happened. After the sweet ceremony, we took some family photos around their home before they hopped into a sprinter van and headed downtown for dinner.
